Asosiasi Gorgonia Astrogorgia sp Terhadap Agensia Penyebab Penyakit Kulit.

Masalah penyakit kulit atau kesehatan kulit merupakan masalah yang umum
terjadi di negara yang padat penduduk, baik di negara maju maupun negara
berkembang. Penyakit kulit yang umum terjadi adalah jerawat yang dapat
disebabkan oleh infeksi pathogen oportunistik pada kulit, seperti Staphylococcus
aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Propionibacterium acne. Penyakit kulit
umumnya diobati menggunkan produk antibiotik. Namun, pemakaian antibiotik
yang tidak tepat dapat meningkatkan resistensi pathogen terhadap berbagai macam
golongan antibiotik. Salah satu sumber biota laut yang menarik untuk dikaji dan
memiliki aktivitas antibakteri adalah bakteri asosiasi gorgonia. Bakteri asosiasi
gorgonia diduga mampu menghasilkan senyawa antimikroba dari hasil asosiasinya
dengan gorgonia.
Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengisolasi bakteri asosiasi gorgonia
Astrogorgia sp yang memiliki senyawa antibakteri dalam melawan patogen, P.
acne, S. epidermidis, dan S. aureus serta mengidentifikasi bakteri asosiasi gorgonia
Astrogorgia sp yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri melalui pendekatan molekuler.
Prosedur penelitian ini meliputi pengambilan sampel, isolasi dan purifikasi bakteri,
uji antimikroba metode agar plug, karakterisasi morfologi, serta identifikasi
molekuler. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 6 isolat yang berhasil
diisoalasi dari gorgonia Astrogorgia sp. dari perairan Pulau Burung, Karimunjawa.
Terdapat 2 isolat yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yaitu BU.14.4 melawan
Staphylococcus aureus dan BU.14.6 melawan Propionibacterium acne. Hasil
identifikasi molekuler menunjukkan bahwa isolat BU 14.4 memiliki kemiripan
sebesar 99,93% dengan Pseudomonas stutzeri dan isolat BU 14.6 memiliki
kemiripan sebesar 99,07% dengan Saccharopolyspora cebuensis. Hasil penelitian
ini menunjukkan bahwa bakteri asosiasi gorogonian merupakan sumber senyawa
aktif antibakteri yang dapat digunakan sebagai kandidat obat antibiotik.

Skin desease problems or skin health is a common problem in densely
populated countries, both in developed and developing countries. A common skin
disease is acne which can be caused by infection with opportunistic pathogens on
the skin, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis,
Propionibacterium acne. Skin diseases are generally treated using antibiotic
products. However, inappropriate use of antibiotics can increase the resistance of
pathogens to various classes of antibiotics. One source of marine biota that is
interesting to study and has antibacterial activity is gorgonian association bacteria.
Gorgonia-associated bacteria are thought to be able to produce antimicrobial
compounds from their association with gorgonians.
This study focuses on isolating the gorgonian association bacteria
Astrogorgia sp which has antibacterial compounds against pathogens, P. acnes, S.
epidermidis, and S. aureus as well as identifying the associated gorgonian
Astrogorgia sp bacteria that have antibacterial activity through a molecular
approach. The procedure of this research includes sampling, isolation and
purification of bacteria, antimicrobial test of agar plugs method, morphological
characterization, and molecular identification. The results of the study showed that
there were 6 isolates that were successfully isolated from gorgonia Astrogorgia sp.
from the waters of Pulau Burung, Karimunjawa. There were 2 isolates that had
antibacterial activity, BU.14.4 against Staphylococcus aureus and BU.14.6 against
Propionibacterium acnes. The results of molecular identification showed that
isolate BU 14.4 had a 99.93% similarity with Pseudomonas stutzeri and isolate BU
14.6 had a similarity of 99.07% with Saccharopolyspora cebuensis. The results of
this study indicate that gorogonian association bacteria are a source of
antibacterial active compounds that can be used as candidates for antibiotic drugs.
