Abstract

Project planning is needed in construction project to make sure the
project is having the right targeted of project namely the right quality, time
and cost. One of the outputs of planning is project scheduling. In general, the
usual scheduling method used is Chart Bar, Network Diagram (CPM, PDM)
and Linear Scheduling Method (Line of Balance and Time Chainage
Diagram). This study aims to elaborate on the most optimal scheduling on
the project which is used as a case study to choose a scheduling method that
fits the type and characteristics of the planned project. The research method
used is descriptive comparative with case studies. Data collection is done by
collecting the project road schedule then the project is analyzed by
scheduling the Network Diagram (CPM, PDM) method and Linear Scheduling
Method (Line of Balance and Time Chainage Diagram). The analysis results
show that bar charts are still commonly used in project scheduling. Network
scheduling methods diagrams are suitable for projects that are complex
because they show specifically the relationships between activities. While on
road projects that are used as case studies, the scheduling method that is
suitable to use is a linear scheduling method because the project activities are
recurring, so this method is able to directly detect activities experiencing
obstacles in project implementation
